This suburb of Columbus is dripping with New England tradition. Located at the intersection of U.S. route 23 and state route 161, Worthington offers attractions and conveniences of a big city combined with the charm and character of small-town living. Founded in 1803, the town reflects it’s New England heritage with it’s authentic brick sidewalks leading to the central Village Green . As time passes, residents of the town still love to meet and greet and stroll the streets of downtown Worthington. Real estate in Worthington is endowed with a quaint historic aesthetic– an architectural style with a blend of American tradition and European flair. As the oldest planned community in Ohio, its tree lined streets and old charm appeal to wide variety of buyers. One may only be so lucky to live here, as homes range from $250,000 and well into the million dollar range. We spent an afternoon exploring the shoppes and eateries of downtown and were pleasantly surprised.

It’s the most perfectly imperfect village in all of Columbus. Take a walk through it’s streets and you’ll notice a common theme– picturesque brick homes, bumpy brick roads and luscious gated gardens. Full of character but small in stature, no structure stands more than three stories tall. Initially platted in 1814 and developed between 1840-1914 it was settled mainly by German immigrants and was referred to as “The Old South End”. A boom in German immigration soon led to a flourishing community. John McGowan, an American Revolutionary veteran claimed 328 acres of land and sold tracts of land as more immigrants arrived. And so it was coined, German Village .

The restaurants design features original artwork, bentwood chairs and polished brass railings. With four private dining rooms it’s perfect for hosting events or gatherings. German Village

Day In The Life

It’s the most perfectly imperfect village in all of Columbus. Take a walk through it’s streets and you’ll notice a common theme– picturesque brick homes, bumpy brick roads and luscious gated gardens. Full of character but small in stature, no structure stands more than three stories tall.
