Creekside Gahanna

A Day In The Life

Gahanna, a suburb of Columbus on the northeast side, has all of the amenities of the big city, but has kept its small-town feel. From fine dining to a meal at a mom and pop shop, there is something for every taste. Walking down the sidewalk, you can feel a sense of community pride. Thanks to the foot traffic and the chiming shop doors, it’s easy to tell there is a ton of support for local businesses.

A staple of the Gahanna community is the Ohio Herb Education Center, a charming little spot in the town’s center. Featuring local and organic products, they have a natural remedy for every ailment – and it all starts with herbs. You can select a special herbal tea blend, gather the supplies to sage your space, or take a workshop about container gardening or how to use specific herbs in cooking. And, of course, it smells amazing!

The area known as Creekside is perfect for any time of year. Cozy little joints butt up to a lovely walking path which is an oasis of greenery, perfect for an after-dinner stroll. Check out the Creekside Jazz Festival every summer, or visit the waterfalls and waterfowl via a paddleboat.

Upper Cup Coffee Co. has a little shop on the main drag, a sister store to their flagship shop on Parsons Avenue. Stop in and take in the bright, artsy vibe. The people, art, and (of course) the donuts will keep you coming back. Imagine a funnel cake texture encrusted in Fruity Pebbles, peanut butter and chocolate, or Oreos…yeah, that’s how they roll. Light and airy, the mini donuts are an unexpected tasty treat!

Visiting Koko Tea Salon and Bakery is like falling down the rabbit hole and ending up in Wonderland with Alice. Dainty plates, pastel wallpaper, and doilies adorn this sweet cottage. The macarons are as delicious as they are stunning – the perfect blend of soft and chewy, we promise you won’t be able to eat just one.

Local Cantina has become a local staple around town but nothing beats the local of their Gahanna Creekside local. In soon to come warmer months, you can enjoy lounging on their patio with a view of the walking path sipping margs and nibbling on guac for hours.

And don’t miss Pigskin Brewing, a hip li’l pub offering good beer and bar bites that could go head-to-head with any downtown brewery. Offering a slew of exciting events to patrons, you’re likely to drop in and be entertained with live music or bar trivia!
