A Day In The Life

Just a hop, skip, and jump outside of Columbus, it’s time for a visit to Canal Winchester! It’s quaint, cute, and totally unexpected — breaking the mold of small-town neighborhoods. As you drive into town, you’re greeted by Dill's Greenhouse, the perfect start to a suburban adventure. This large nursery is full of essentials for the plant-lovers. Find rows of ferns, cacti, and succulents to feed your green thumb. Dills is the perfect stop on a lazy weekend, whether you are window shopping or planning a summer garden.

Canal Winchester’s town center is a perfect mix of old and new. Historic brick buildings and homes line the street. There’s a sense of hometown pride and community you can feel in the bustling streets, front porches full of neighbors, and mom and pop shops.

A great local shop for vintage treasures, Corner Smiths is a community staple. The store is laid out like an old house with tons of rooms of themed goodies. Their wares are a blend of charming vintage pieces and new locally handcrafted gems.Just across the street, Sticks and Stones Studio is a fabulous go-to for home goods ranging from unique furniture to one-of-a-kind wall art.

Tucked just behind the main drag, Georgie Emerson Vintage is a magical place perfect for outfitting your home in the modern farmhouse look. Stop here for old windowpanes, doors, and neat knickknacks that will bring out your inner Joanna Gaines.

Just in case you haven’t heard, Canal Winchester is home to the BrewDog’s North American distribution center…it’s pretty cool that the world-famous Scottish brewery made Ohio their home on this side of the pond. BrewDog is everything you want in a brewery. First off, it’s huge! The taproom is stunning, with large beams, wooden accents, and some killer garage doors rounding out the interior. If you’re hungry, you’re in luck – the food is fab, and we recommend the cauliflower wings. It’s the perfect spot for a weekend hang. Get competitive with shuffleboard or pinball, or chill in the outdoor space by the fire pits. And you guessed it…they are dog friendly and have their own dog park off the back patio. Imagine sipping an Elvis Juice while your pup plays. Perfect!

We rounded out our Canal Winchester adventure with a last-minute pit stop at Fantasy Cupcake. These homemade goodies are delightful. They offer an array of flavors. We recommend the cookie dough or buckeye – you won’t be able to resist coming back for more!
